The major highlight of Capcom's Gamescom conference today is an announcement of a new IP developed by Dontnod Entertainment. The game is called Remember Me and it is slated for a May 2013 release for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. The game takes place in a futuristic Paris, France in 2084 and you play as a female protagonist named Nilin, a former elite memory bounty hunter that can break into people's minds and even manipulate their memories. The main mission for her is to rediscover her identity after being arrested with her memory wiped clean. There is a trailer below and also some gameplay footage of a mission demonstrating Nilin's skills.
While she can engage in freeflow combat against groups of enemies similar to Batman: Arkham City, sneaking around to break into people's minds in an open world Paris is one of many objectives to complete missions. She is also very mobile and agile being able to escape hairy situations as well. The cyberpunk action adventure genre has been picking up steam lately with last year's Deus Ex: Human Revolution and EA's Syndicate, which was out earlier this year. This is Capcom's first foray to the genre and it is so far an interesting take with what Nilin is capable of. Remember Me comes out on May 2013 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
