Marvel’s Daredevil to be Released on Blu-Ray in November
"There is No Longer Any Need to Fear for Marvel Fans"
Marvel Television announced this week they will release the 13-episode first season of the hit Netflix series
Marvel's Daredevil on Blu-Ray November 8th in North America. After two years of waiting, fans of the series who do not subscribe to the streaming service Netflix will be able to legally watch the first season.
Marvel’s Daredevil follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil, fighting crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. His efforts are not welcomed by powerful businessman Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and others whose interests collide with those of Daredevil. Though Murdock’s day job portrays a man who believes in the criminal justice system, his alter ego suggests otherwise, as he takes the law into his own hands to protect his Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
The 18-month time frame from the
Marvel's Daredevil premiere and the release of the first season on Blu-Ray may serve as the blueprint for the future release of other Marvel shows on Netflix. Netflix is also currently the home to
Marvel's Jessica Jones,
Marvel's Luke Cage, the forthcoming
Marvel's Iron Fist, a future Punisher series, and the highly anticipated 2017 team-up series,
Marvel's Defenders.
Season one of
Marvel's Daredevil was recently honored as Best New Media TV Series at the 42
nd Annual Saturn Awards hosted by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
