Usually around this time before a Call of Duty game release, Activision and Treyarch have been showing off the new game's multiplayer to get fans excited. That said, a new trailer showcasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's multiplayer was released today. We've already seen what the campaign is shaping up to be, but fans always know that the multiplayer is the one that matters at the end of the day. Numbers for the first Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer continue to be big today with more maps coming to the latter next month.
It is no surprise that Black Ops 2 will most likely repeat that success, and just by seeing stun knives being thrown in the first few seconds, it's quite apparent this will be the competitive multiplayer juggernaut to beat this year. Also shown in the trailer are tomahawks, deployable turrents that send out sonic waves, mechs, drones and more. The end of the trailer, however, is a little more interesting, showing a multi-team deathmatch with commentary. Activision and Treyarch have said in interviews that they want to cater to the e-sports crowd with this new Call of Duty and this might be an indication of what to expect on that front. There should be more details on the multiplayer soon and the return of zombies mode in the coming weeks for those wanting to know more besides what is in the trailer below. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be out on November 13 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
