Today's classic game train continues with Sega announcing Nights Into Dreams HD for Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network and PC. This unique platformer came out 16 years ago for the Sega Saturn, and quickly became the first of Sega's classics in the post-Genesis era. There was a sequel that came out on the Wii, but it received mixed reception among fans and critics.
Sega teased this announcement earlier this week on their social feeds with a screenshot, but fans can easily tell that they are bringing Nights back to the current generation of consoles for old and new audiences. This HD remake will contain the standard of what has been seen in recent HD releases of classic games, from offering a widescreen resolution up to a 16:9 aspect ratio, trophies, achievements and online leaderboards.
Along with the HD filters, the game can still be played in its original Saturn form as well, so players will be able to toggle back and forth between the original and HD graphics. The announcement trailer is below for those that want to see how the improved Nights looks in today's consoles, and also compared to the original. Even though no official pricing was announced, Nights Into Dreams HD is coming out this fall for Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and PC.
