BioWare has finally announced the release date of the long awaited "Extended Cut" for Mass Effect 3. For the many that were disappointed with the game's ending, this extended cut is going to clarify some things from the storyline with more cutscenes and epilogues. According to BioWare themselves, it will provide enough answers and closure that was missed in the original ending. Most importantly, this DLC will be free and out on Tuesday June 26 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. This download is also at about 2 GBs, so for those that have small hard drives and want to get it, better clear up some space.
(Spoilers for those that have not played the game yet); to actually see the Extended Cut content, you need a save at around the point you're going to attack the Cerebrus base. Of course, choices that you have made with that save prior to the attack and till the end will matter to the extended endings. There is an interview below with Executive Producer Casey Hudson and Lead Writer Mac Walters that explains more of what to expect with the Extended Cut. Also, expect some thoughts of the DLC by me and the rest of the Player Affinity staff soon as well. It is going to be a big day for Mass Effect 3 fans as the Extended Cut comes out on Tuesday and hopefully it will be worth the wait.
