The Huffington Post reports that Syfy has acquired the third season of Canadian drama Lost Girl, which is now in production. The supernatural series was renewed in December 2011 by Showcase (its original Canadian channel) for a 13-episode third season, down from the 22 episodes of season two.
Lost Girl follows seductress Bo (Anna Silk), a succubus who feeds on the sexual energy of humans. With the help of her human sidekick, Kenzi (Ksenia Solo), Bo takes on a challenge every week helping a "Fae" or a human client who comes to her to solve a mystery, or to right a wrong.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the first two seasons have performed pretty well for Syfy. The series leads all other cable dramas in its Monday time slot among adults aged 18-49 and 25-54. The show is now eight episodes into its second season (on Syfy) and has averaged 1.6 million total viewers in Nielsen's Live+7 data.
Lost Girl currently airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on Syfy and beginning on July 20, it will move to Fridays at the same time.
