When I first went to their website to research this article, it still read May 24th. My screen cap game is weak.[/caption]
For those of you waiting for
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the reboot to 2008’s
Mirror’s Edge, I’m very sorry, but you are going to have to wait just a little bit longer to get in on the first person free-running, rebels against dystopian oppression, open-world goodness. In a statement released today on the
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst website, design director, Erik Odeldahl, explains that the dates for the release have been pushed back from May 24
th to June 7
th for North America, and June 9
th for the EU.
“To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta. That is why we will give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game, with a new release date for
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst of June 7th (NA) and June 9th (EU). We’re confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players.”
This is the second time that Catalyst has been delayed; the original release date was Febuary 23
rd. The good news is that this current delay is relatively short. The closed Beta for
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst starts tomorrow for those of you already registered.
