Co-created by Alan Yang (and heavily inspired by Ansari’s own experiences), Master of None follows an actor named Dev as he “fumbles his way through life in New York.” Since its release in November, AFI named the series one of its 10 best programs of 2015, it won the Critic’s Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Series from the Broadcast Film Critics Association, and Ansari himself earned nominations for Best Actor from the BFCA and for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical from the Golden Globes. Interestingly, Deadline notes that the show’s renewal must have been very recent, citing Ansari’s more “circumspect” thoughts on jumping into a second season during a TCA panel: “I definitely need some time to refill my head. The first season was so personal, I just wanna make sure whatever we do for season 2 lives up to what we did in the first season.” Master of None: Season 1 can be streamed right now on Netflix, but like most series, I haven't gotten around to checking it out. For those who have already made their way through the first season, what do you think of this news? Featured image via nhpr.org.Master of None Season 2 coming 2017.
