Deadline reports that Scottish actor Dougray Scott is in negotiations to play a lead in Netflix's upcoming original series, Hemlock Grove.
Based on Brian McGreevey's recently published gothic novel, the 13-episode series centers around the murder of a young girl in a ravaged Pennsylvania steel town called Hemlock Grove. As the crime goes unsolved, two of the suspects, Roman Godfrey (Bill Skarsgard) and Peter Rumancek (Landon Liboiron) decide to find the murderer on their own. Their investigation will take them through some hidden truths about themselves and the town's secrets.
Scott will play Roman's uncle, Norman Godfrey, the male lead opposite Famke Janssen's Olivia Godfrey, the otherworldly powerful woman of Hemlock Grove and mother of Roman.
Directed by Eli Roth and produced by Gaumont International TV, the series written by Brian McGreevey and Lee Shipman is slated for release in early 2013.
