Good Girls Revolt gets full order from Amazon
Amazon has ordered a full season of its newsroom drama,
Good Girls Revolt, according to
Variety. The season will consist of 10 episodes.
Good Girls Revolt is set in 1969 and follows a group of young female researchers at the fictional news series “News of the Week." In an industry dominated by men, the main characters are simply asking to be treated fairly, chronicling sexual-discrimination cases of the era.
The series is inspired by Lynn Povich’s book of the same name. The series is set to star Genevieve Angelson, Anna Camp, Erin Darke, Chris Diamantopoulos, Hunter Parrish, Jim Belushi, Joy Bryant and Grace Gummer.
Series creator Dana Calvo previously stated that his Amazon project could renew the genre of scripted newsroom television.
The pilot was written by Calvo, directed by Liza Johnson and exec produced by Calvo, Lynda Obst, Darlene Hunt and Jeff Okin.
Good Girls Revolt doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but the pilot can be watched now on Amazon Prime.
