Sonia Braga Joins Luke Cage

[caption id="attachment_77613" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Getty Images[/caption] Following the success of Jessica Jones, fans are getting more exciting to learn more about Luke Cage, the next Marvel series to take place in that universe. The show will follow Jessica Jone’s love interest and fellow superhuman, Luke Cage. This Netflix original series has recently added Sonia Braga to its cast, according to TVLine. She will be playing Soledad Temple, Claire Temple’s mother. Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) is a prominent character in Daredevil and made an appearance on the first season of Jessica Jones. Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, has said that this is a chance for audiences to see where Claire gets her fire from. He said they wanted to cast someone who could play a powerful mother figure for the strong and fierce Claire Temple that fans have come to love and admire. Braga has previously appeared on Royal Pains, Alias, Warehouse 13 and Sex in the City. She is also a three-time Golden Globe nominee for Kiss of the Spider Woman, Moon Over Parador and Brothers & Sisters. Marvel’s Luke Cage is set to premiere sometime in 2016.
