Lost in Space Lands Remake with Netflix
Another show can be added the long list of remakes coming from Netflix. This time
Lost in Space is getting the reboot treatment. The original series ran on CBS from 1965-1968 and focused on the story of the Robinson family as they attempted to colonize a planet in deep space. The mission was sabotaged by a foreign secret agent, which caused their ships to get blown off course.
The series recently celebrated its 50th anniversary in September with a release of
Irwin Allen’s Lost in Space: The Complete Adventures on Blu-ray Disc, featuring all 83 episodes.
According to
Deadline, the updated version will follow a young explorer family from Earth, lost in a foreign universe and the obstacles they encounter while trying to stay together. The project will be written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (
Dracula Untold) and it will produced by Kevin Burns, Neil Marshall and Marc Helwig. The
Lost in Space reboot will be added to Netflix’s lineup for more family oriented programming.
