NBC Renews Blindspot for Second Season
NBC's hit new fall series
Blindspot has already been renewed for a second season.
This is an early renewal for a fall TV show, but there's a good reason NBC is acting so early.
Blindspot is the number one new fall series among a very important demographic: adults ages 18 to 49, the same age range as San Diego Comic-Con attendees who went to
the show's panel this past July, and the hottest age group for network advertisers.
Blindspot was also the first show this fall to get a
full-season freshman order.
Show creator Martin Gero, who has already planned out the story arc of the second season (and possible third season), told
Variety, "I'm so excited. This is totally crazy to have a pickup this early. NBC has been so super fantastic from the beginning and so, why stop now?"
Blindspot stars
Jaimie Alexander as a woman who is covered head-to-toe in tattoos and has no memory of who she is. Each of her tattoos is a clue to unlock the mysteries of her past. Jaimie Alexander is best known for playing the goddess of war Sif in the "Thor" film franchise, and for her performance as Jessi in the ABC Family mystery series
Kyle XY.
President of NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke told
Deadline, "We are over the moon with the success of
Blindspot and want to thank our producers and our amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television."
Blindspot is dominating on Mondays at 10 p.m.
