Turn off the Lights

Marvel Sitcom in Development from ABC

ABC already has strong ties to Marvel, both due to their parent company Disney and through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. Now the network and comic giant are looking to team up with a comedy series. The network recently bought a script for a half-hour, single-camera sitcom that follows the clean-up crew of the Marvel Universe, according to Variety. The project is currently titled Damage Control. The series will show what happens after the big superhero battles are done, focusing on the people who are left to clean up after them. Among the things the clean-up crew will be responsible for include recovering lost ray guns, helping to reschedule a wedding venue that has been been destroyed in a battle, and tracking down a missing prize African parrot that might have been turned to stone. Marvel Studios logo The series is being developed by Ben Karlin (The Daily Show, Modern Family), and he is set to exec produce with David Miner and Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb. ABC Studios and Marvel TV will produce. ABC is also currently working on a Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff, Marvel’s Most Wanted and an additional top-secret Marvel project to also air on ABC. If Damage Control sounds familiar, that’s because NBC is also developing a sitcom about a DC Comics workplace comedy called Powerless that may touch on a few similar elements. It will be interesting to see how these two comedy shows battle it out or if they will even make it on air. Which one sounds more interesting to you?
