Sons of Anarchy Spinoff Coming to FX
We have great news for fans still mourning the end of
Sons of Anarchy. According to EntertainmentWeekly, creator Kurt Sutter is officially developing a spinoff. So who’s going to be main focus? Few details are known, but the main story will deal with the Mayans motorcycle club, the Oakland-based Hispanic MC gang, which played a major role in the series. Sutter previously teased a prequel series at Comic-Con about the origins of John Teller and Piney Winston, but there hasn't been any comment about where this show will take place in relation to the
Sons of Anarchy timeline.
Sutter will be executive producing the untitled project, but the show is still searching for a showrunner to be responsible for the daily management.
Sons of Anarchy ended this past December after seven seasons to series high audience numbers, so it makes sense that the network would want to create another show within that world. FX will also be premiering Sutter’s new period drama
The Bastard Executioner Sept. 15 on FX. It will be interesting to see how
Sons of Anarchy fans react to both of these new Sutter shows. Will fans tune in without Jax and the gang?
