Bloodstained Funded for Wii U
"Vita is next at $3.5 million"
Koji Igarashi’s Kickstarter for his
Castlevania successor,
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, has hit over three million dollars, which means it’s now coming out for Wii U.
Every backer can now select Wii U as be an option for any physical and digital version of the game when the post mortem survey is emailed. The Wii U version will be handled by Armature, who was formed by former Retro Studios heads and has made games like
Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate and HD remasters like the Vita version of
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and the
Borderlands Handsome Collection.
On Wii U,
Bloodstained will support Miiverse, off-TV play, the map consistently on the GamePad (if it isn’t off-TV), Mii support and Pro Controller support.
Bloodstained is “an exploration-focused, side-scrolling platformer featuring RPG and crafting elements,” and will be much like
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
The game stars Miriam, “an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes your skin.” The game will feature the biggest explorable castle in Igarashi’s development history and have cheat codes, David Hayter’s voice work, multiple playable characters, local co-op, and various modes.
