Woody Allen picks cast for “Midnight in Paris”

With You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger hitting cinemas this September, Woody Allen is already taking great steps toward his 2011 feature, Midnight in Paris, by signing an all-star cast that includes three Academy Award winners.

Allen's ensemble cast features Marion Cotillard (Academy Award winner in La Vie En Rose), Kathy Bates (Academy Award winner in Misery), Adrien Brody (Acedemy Award winner in The Pianist), Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon), Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes),  Owen Wilson and Carla Bruni (a popular singer in France and married to some man called Nicholas Sarkozy). The last addition was Tom Hiddleston (Loki in the upcoming Thor movie). Filming begins this summer.

The official synopsis for the film (according to JoBlo.com) is as follows:

"Midnight in Paris is a romantic comedy that follows a family travelling to the city for business. The party includes a young engaged couple that has their lives transformed throughout the journey. The film celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better."

"Paris" will be the next in a string of Allen films taking place in Europe. Allen has recently moved away from New York, with many of his newer films set in London and his Spanish set film Vicky Cristina Barcelona winning a few awards. He now sets to give the city of lights his treatment of comedy-drama filmmaking in what should be a highly anticipated film.
