Ubisoft Promises Better PC Games & Support For PC Gamers
"Ubisoft Is Promising PC Gamers A Better Experience. "
Ubisoft has vowed to improve their PC game releases, which have brought criticism and complaints over the last few years. These complaints included obnoxious DRM, releasing PC versions well after the console version or releasing games that are unstable and prone to crashes. This promise comes from Alain Corre, Ubisoft's Executive Director of the EMEA territories, during an
interview with MCV at Gamescom.
Alain assured MCV and PC gamers that the company is changing and improving the way they treat the PC market. He also spoke of how the PC market is important to Ubisoft and the growth that market is having.
"We recognize the importance and needs of PC gamers, and want to continue to improve how we create and support games for PC. As a percentage of our business, PC grew last year, from 11 per cent in 2012/13 to 15 per cent in 2013/14, which is an indication of the progress we’re making." Alain continued and told MCV about Ubisoft's continuing efforts to release PC games alongside console and how they are listening to feedback from PC gamers.
"We listen to feedback from players and continue to adapt accordingly; for instance, we switched to a simple, one- time activation for our PC games – a standard practice in the industry."
"We’re also doing our best to bring our games to PC at the same time as the console versions.
Assassin’s Creed Unity and
Far Cry 4, for example, will be released simultaneously on console and PC, and this will continue to be the goal for all our major titles.
He finished by commenting on some of the issues PC players have had with stability of some Ubisoft PC games. “Finally, we are committed to improving the optimization of our games for each platform on which they’re released – including PC.”
Hopefully
Assassin's Creed Unity will run smoothly on PC. To read some of our thoughts on the recently released gameplay video of
