Assassin's Creed Revelations will be out in November and the
upcoming multiplayer beta begins exclusively on PSN on September 3rd.
Come the 11th, however, and the beta will also be available on Xbox Live, but that still gives PS3
owners a good solid week head start to see what Ubisoft is doing with the
multiplayer portion of the next entry in their iconic hooded stab-fest
franchise. To get access to the beta on PSN you simply need to be a
subscriber of Plus or have an Ubisoft Uplay account. Uplay is free so I
imagine most people will go with that.
The content being showcased for the beta is quite hefty; there will be nine
character skins to choose from (all sporting their own
unique look and feel as they did in "Brotherhood"), three playable maps in total and four game
modes including Deathmatch, Artifact Assault, Wanted and Manhunt. Personally I'm happy to just sneak around killing fools all sneaky-like but it
will be nice to see the new modes in action if I get in on this beta. I'll probably be patient and wait for the Live version though since more of my
friends will probably be joining me there.
Assassin's Creed Revelations isn't the biggest game of the year for me with
there being much bigger titles releasing around the same time. However, that doesn't
change the fact I'm very excited to check out the full game and see where
Ubisoft is taking this crazy franchise since this may very well be the last
entry in the series this generation.
