I am all set to get my hands on the Team Ico collection. It is slated for non-Japan regions and it's coming with some nice extras.
The official date of release is September 27, 2011 for the United States and the month of September for other countries. A bonus disc, that includes extra feature videos, comes with all of the collection copies. The disc contains videos about the studios' work, and a preview of their next big PS3 title: The Last Guardian. Sony has
been sketchy on the exact details of the disc, but from the sounds of it, we
should expect a mix of things like interviews, a studio tour and perhaps some
making-of behind the scenes stuff. There will also be
two dynamic themes included: one for Ico, and one for Shadow of the Colossus.
If you've heard anything about these two games and how widely acclaimed
they are, you can throw in my recommendation as well. I briefly played Ico
many years ago, during the early days of PS2, and never got around to buying
a copy. It is something I've always regretted. I did, however, get my hands on a
rare paper bound collector’s edition of Shadow of the Colossus back when it
released and I value it immensely as it was truly one of the most awe-inspiring
unique games I've ever played. I doubt this new bit of content on The
Last Guardian. But I'm very excited for this year’s Tokyo Game Show since there is a
very high chance the game will be shown in playable form and I bet
everyone, like me, is wondering how we can interact with the
giant adorable cat, dragon, mouse-thing shown in footage so far.
