Remedy’s Quantum Break Delayed to 2015
The delays keep on coming as E3 draws closer in less than two weeks. This time is the highly anticipated Xbox One exclusive
Quantum Break by Remedy, the folks behind the first two
Max Payne games and the
Alan Wake series. Due to how ambitious the game is being both a cinematic action game and also a television show, it is not surprising it is being delayed to 2015 even though I personally didn't expect it to come out later this year at all. To compensate with the delay announcement, Remedy has released a new teaser video with more to shown off at Gamescom in August instead of E3.
Remedy's Sam Lake explains in the trailer above, "The game is about heroes, the show is about villains. In the game you play Jack Choice in a desperate fight to stop the fracture, that threatens to cause the end of time. In the show, in the style of a modern TV series you follow the schemes and power play inside Monarch – the corporation that’s Jack’s main enemy."
Missing E3 does seem unfortunate for both Microsoft and Remedy, but more time with a new demo for Gamescom in August could be the better call at the end of the day if the E3 demo just was not ready or good enough. With
Quantum Break's delay to next year, this leaves Insomniac's
Sunset Overdrive and the heavily rumored
Halo game to ease the wait for
Halo 5: Guardians as the big exclusives for the Xbox One this holiday season.
