I don't know about you, but personally I felt a bit more distant from the whole E3 hoopla this year than I have in years past. Still, lots of interesting games were shown, and some of them were interesting enough to pick up a handful of awards from critics at various recognizable American game publications. Bioshock: Infinite was the big winner this time, picking up all four awards it was nominated for, including Best of Show. A few games that didn't manage to win anything despite multiple nominations included Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Batman: Arkham City. Here's the full list of winners. Some of the ways games were divided into categories are odd, but that's what you deal with when every game is on every system and has elements from multiple genres.
Best of Show - Bioshock: Infinite (also Best Original Game, Best PC Game, and Best Action/Adventure Game)
Best Console Game - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (also Best Roleplaying Game)
Best Handheld Game - Sound Shapes (also Best Social/Casual Game)
Best Hardware - Playstation Vita
Best Action Game - Battlefield 3 (also Best Online Multiplayer)
Best Fighting Game - Street Fighter X Tekken
Best Racing Game - Forza 4
Best Sports Game - FIFA 12
Best Strategy Game - From Dust
Best Motion Simulation Game - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
