Assassin’s Creed Unity Announced for Holiday 2014
The official
Assassin's Creed twitter account announced the next game in the long running series. A short teaser reveals that
Assassin's Creed Unity will take place during the French Revolution.
We have only seen a brief glimpse so far, so we can't say if the series will see any new or improved gameplay types, but because the game is seemingly set in mainland France, we can expect that naval warfare will not play a significant role. Hopefully Ubisoft will take the opportunity of a non-numbered sequel to experiment with more types of missions as opposed to what was featured in
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and its disappointing DLC,
Freedom Cry.
Most notably in the announcement is the specific exclusion of last generation hardware releases as the game is set to launch during Holiday of 2014 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
