RoboCop Vs. The Terminator to be Rereleased in Special Editions
Roughly twenty-two years after its initial run,
RoboCop Vs. The Terminator is being rereleased in two special editions that are a must-own for collectors and fans of the momentous crossover between two of science fiction’s greatest creations. This upcoming summer, Dark Horse Comics will be releasing the miniseries in the form of a “super deluxe” gallery edition and a hardcover graphic novel.
Written by Frank Miller and illustrated by Walter Simonson,
RoboCop Vs. The Terminator is the successful fusion of two universes. When Alex Murphy, AKA RoboCop, discovers that the company that made him has ties to Skynet, the manufacturer of Terminators and the cause of the robot apocalypse, he is forced into a time-traveling tango with the human resistance that views him as an enemy and the computer network with the fate of the world in its grip.
Both editions will feature remastered colors from Steve Oliff and an introduction by Steven Grant, the writer of 2 guns. In what promises to be the first of many in Dark Horse’s new gallery series, the super deluxe edition of RoboCop Vs. The Terminator will contain a forward by Simonson, his original art in its full size, supplementary pages of his original pencils, and the promotional art he created for the series.
Walter Simonson said of the newly restored collections, “I can only hope that a new generation of readers will take as much delight in discovering the series as we took in creating it.” The hardcover graphic novel will hit stores on July 2nd, 2014, with the gallery edition arriving a week later on the 9th.
