Playstation Plus Not Required for The Elder Scrolls Online
Mat Firor, Director of
ZeniNax Online Studios has come out and said that a
Playstation Plus subscription will not be required to play
The Elder Scrolls Online.
In the latest
Playstation Blog, Firor had this to say, "A PlayStation Plus membership is not required to play
The Elder Scrolls Online. PS4 players will only be required to pay the same monthly subscription associated with The Elder Scrolls Online that PC and Mac users will pay."
This seems like the right direction to take for games with subscription models and could reel in players who might have otherwise walked away due to the cost of a boxed product along with both the Playstation Plus and the monthly fees. Hopefully this will set a trend for future titles who are in the same situation, making these games more appealing to a wider audience.
There is still no word yet if an Xbox Live Gold account will be required to play the game on Xbox One or not.
The Elder Scrolls Online is set for a spring release this year on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
