Bethesda Reveals Elder Scrolls Online Launch Dates
Following 11 months in closed beta, Bethesda finally tacked a
release date for the version PC of
The Elder Scrolls Online today. Launching on April 4, 2014 for PC and Mac platforms, Bethesda also announced that next-generation console users can expect the massive multiplayer online rendition of the beloved
Elder Scrolls franchise sometime in June 2014.
Since accepting
beta registrations back on January 21, approximately four million users have signed-up to wage war over the Ruby Throne in Cyrodiil for the extended beta test; the latest test which ran last month hosted 300,000 players over a 48-hour period.
With major systems development completed, the
ESO team intends to spend the next few months prior to release polishing the game based upon both internal and external feedback and gameplay data from the beta testing period, stated Game Director Matt Firor.
It is not only a game we are launching – it is a large online service as well, and our number one priority is to ensure a trouble-free, stable rollout for everyone, said Firor.
