Another strong week for new
games on the PS3, especially for racing fans with three new racing games arriving
in stores in the shape of: NASCAR 2011,
Shift 2, and MotoGP. Also out in stores this week
are wrestling game WWE All Stars,
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, and the hack
and slash game Dynasty Warriors 7.
New games on the PlayStation
Network include a port of the original Sonic
the Hedgehog, the second part of the excellent Back to the Future: The Game, and the download re-release of the
full game of Split/Second.
Also out this week on PSN is
Free Realms, which is an unusual RPG
MMO aimed at younger players. Set in a fantasy themed world, the game is
free to play but requires you to buy items with real money to progress to the
higher levels.
Game of the Week goes to Shift 2: Unleashed. With
games like GT5, the sim racing genre can sometimes seem a little sterile to the casual
audience. Shift 2 finds a way of making real-world inspired racing feel
fresh, intense, and surprisingly addictive.
New Retail Games :
WWE All Stars - An over-the-top, arcade-style fighting game with current and
classic WWE’s superstars. .
Shift 2: Unleashed - Builds on the strengths of the first game with intense sim style
racing and real-world cars and tracks.
Dynasty Warriors 7 - Based on the novel, the game depicts the large battles fuelled by
the fall of the Han Dynasty where rebellious states moved to overthrow the
Emperor of China.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters
- Experience the rich history of the Masters Tournament and aim to win the Green
Jacket in this Move enabled golf game.
NASCAR The Game 2011 - Play as yourself or as a real-world driver in the
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Features include AI characteristics that
match real-world counterparts, 22 real-world tracks and full pit stop strategy
action.
MotoGP 10/11
- Racing game that focuses on the international MotoGP Motorbike championship,
with 10/11 bikes and riders.
Downloadable Games on PSN: Split/Second ($29.99) – The full version of the action arcade racing game
set in a reality television show.
Rush’N Attack: Ex-Patriot ($9.99) - Uncover secrets hiding in the shadows of the Cold
War. Trapped behind enemy lines you have to find a way to survive and stop global
destruction.
Chime Super Deluxe ($9.99) – Deluxe version of a musical block puzzle game.
Sonic the Hedgehog ($4.99) – The full original Genesis game that introduced the
world to an impatient blue hedgehog.
