To add to the ton of Resident Evil news that has been rolling out over the past few weeks, Capcom has finally confirmed their new Resident Evil game, entitled Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City coming out for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Capcom did not specify if the new game would be an XBLA/PSN title or a full retail release.
It sounds more like a full retail release featuring what seems to be a good story involving you wiping out all the survivors of the T-Virus, including one man you may remember from previous installments in the franchise. In Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, you will “ not only compete against an opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters.” While that sounds fine and dandy, we’ll have to wait to find out if it’s all just press release talk or if Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is something special in the team based shooter market.
If you’re a
Resident Evil aficionado, you should definitely keep your eye out on this
installment in the Resident Evil franchise as it will take place between RE 2
and RE3 and allow you to “ rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak.” No
release date has been announced for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
