The biggest new release out
in stores this week for PS3 is Test Drive Unlimited 2, which falls somewhere
between a Need for Speed game and The Sims! So if you like driving around
in fast cars but find racing games a little limiting or repetitive, then this
open world and more social approach might be worth looking at.
There are some good new
games out on the PlayStation Network this week. Explodemon is a light hearted modern take on the old style
platformer. Stacking is a unique
puzzle game from Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions, and Plants vs. Zombies is an already popular
game that first came out on the PC and which pits the player against wave after
wave of zombies that you attack with house plants.
Game of the Week should go to Plants vs. Zombies
as it has a fresh look, a good sense of humor, lot more content than other similar
games, and it is as addictive as this type of game should be.
New PS3 Retail Releases:
Test Drive Unlimited 2 — A modern combination of classic racing
elements with social interactions, discovery and exploration in an open world
style driving game.
Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll — An action RPG set in the world of Zill O’ll
with a party-based combat system using swords, magic, and alternative attacks.
You Don’t Know Jack — The trivia franchise is now playable on PS3. With more than 15
hours of game play and multiplayer local and online challenges.
New PSN Games:
Explodemon ($9.99) - Retro platforming where Explodemon uses his ability
to blow himself to destroy enemies, objects, and solve environmental puzzles.
Tales From Space: About a Blob ($14.99) - A side-scrolling puzzle-platformer.
Stacking ($14.99) – Explore a vintage land inhabited by living Russian stacking dolls and
use abilities to solve puzzles & challenges.
Plants vs. Zombies ($14.99) - Defend your home from a mob of zombies armed with
plants from the garden. Can be played in 2-player Versus and Co-op modes.
