Turn off the Lights

Uncharted, Killzone, LBP, More In Development For NGP

Nathan Drake is going on yet another adventure on Sony's newly-announced NGP. Developed by Sony Bend, the team responsible for Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow and Resistance Retribution, the new sequel will see a few interesting (read: gimmicky) control tweaks that take advantage of the NGP's revamped UI. For example, you can tap on the screen to jump instead of pressing X (although hitting the button is still an option,) you will have to swing the system back and forth to swing on vines, and you will have to trace your fingers over each other on the system's rear touchpad in order to climb up ropes, "as if you're climbing a vine with both hands."

Nate is not the only Playstation hero to push the NGP. Also announced at the conference were Killzone, Hot Shots Golf, Littlebigplanet, Resistance, and WipEout games. Those all sound great, for sure, but the original PSP suffered from a dearth of original IPs. That should not be a problem if these interesting-sounding titles are any indication. Also announced for the NGP were Gravity Daze, Smart As, Broken, Little Deviants, and an augmented-reality title called Reality Fighters. The full list of confirmed releases is below.
