THQ has revealed their tentative release dates for its upcoming games. In addition to announcing Saints Row 3 and the fact that future UFC: Undisputed titles will not be released on a yearly basis for quality reasons, high profile game Red Faction: Armageddon will be pushed back from a March 2011 release to a May 2011 release. So why the two-month roll back? According to THQ President and CEO Brian Farrell, the company is striving for “advantageous windows” for releases. As of today, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dragon Age 2, Crysis 2, Brink and Twisted Metal are all scheduled for a March 2011 release. If Armageddon were to get lost in the shuffle, THQ would risk posting another year of profit losses.
Armageddon is the follow up to the wildly successful Red Faction: Guerilla. The series which began as a fairly respectable FPS has relaunched itself as an open-world sandbox game with an emphasis on fully destructible environments and non-linear gameplay.
