A new story driven, single-player DLC pack has just been announced for Bioshock 2. Minerva's Den will actually be the forth piece of DLC for the game, along with the two multiplayer and one other single player add-on that are already available. But, it will be the first to have aspects that follow on directly from the main single player story. 2K have also said that this will be the last DLC for the game, but promises a significant amount of content. It is set to introduce new characters and locations, as well as bringing in new enemies to the world of Rapture. Minerva's Den will be the biggest add-on for the game, as 2K president Christoph Hartmann explains: "The core team has created an exciting product that further enhances the mystery and allure of the world of Rapture. Minerva's Den will be a fitting conclusion to the BioShock 2 saga.” He also suggests it will take players on a journey to uncover extra hidden secrets about the creation of the fallen underwater utopia. Along with new, more powerful Splicers, new plasmids, and high-tech weapons, there is even said to be an all new type of Big Daddy.
All-in-all there does seem to be a lot of interesting features in Minerva's Den, and it might just be worth getting excited about if you are a fan of the original two games.
There is not yet any word on the price, but it should arrive some time later this fall for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
