Personally, I have often used my wired Xbox 360 controller on my PC when playing titles such as Skyrim, Sonic All Stars Racing, etc and it is no surprise that Microsoft have confirmed their new Xbox One controller will be compatible with PCs in 2014.
Microsoft explains, "There is some work that we need to do to make sure that existing PC games that support the Xbox 360 controller will work with the Xbox One controller," a Microsoft spokesperson told Kotaku via email. "While it seems trivial, it’s actually quite a bit of dedicated work for all that to be seamless for the user. We know people want to use the Xbox One controller on their PC, and we do too--we expect to have the functionality available in 2014."
Currently, the Xbox 360 controller works exceptionally with a vast array of PC titles that offer gamepad functionality and is used by gamers all around the world. The controllers are also compatible with some Mac games, using third-party drivers.
