A new trailer has been released for the up and coming Final Fantasy title, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
Released yesterday by Square-Enix, the video named ‘The Divine Task’ explains more about the games storyline and reveals some previously unseen in game footage.
Featuring the reappearance of new faces such as Hope and Noel plus a new setting in the form of The Ark, the trailer was launched to celebrate the company's Japan Expo, which is taking place in Paris this week.
Due in February, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII takes place in a world called Nova Chrysalia and follows the last 13 days of its existence. Fighting to save it is the games protagonist and the titles only playable character, Lightning.
A direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII-2, Lightning Returns is the last game in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series and its arrival will apparently mark the end of the whole Final Fantasy XIII trilogy.
Unlike the games series predecessor though, the retail version of Lightning Returns will feature a complete ending, meaning that players will not be required to buy downloadable content to find out how the story concludes.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled to be released next year on February 11th in the US and the 14th in Europe, for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
