HBO Comedy Veep is Renewed for a 3rd Season

Early in its second season, HBO has renewed its popular new show Veep and will air the next season starting next year. This news comes less than a week after the airing of the most recent episode, which boasted record viewership for the second season. The comedy, which airs every Sunday night at 10 PM, is set to return next year with an all new 10-episode season. This past Sunday, the show boasted a total of 1.3 million viewers, which was up from the season premiere of 1.2 million on April 14. The show was created by Armando Iannucci and stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selena Meyer, the Vice President of the United States. The show is set in Washington DC and centers around the life of the Vice President and the inner workings of her office.

Veep
offers audiences an entertaining ensemble cast, with great performances from Selena's staff members. Tony Hale, who is best known for playing the quirky younger brother Buster on the popular comedy series Arrested Development, offers a particularly funny turn on the show. He plays the Vice President's assistant, and while this show is still a comedy, it is interesting to see him in a more serious role. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is excellent in her role as the Vice President, a role that won her an Emmy last year and netted a Golden Globe nomination. Is everyone else excited for another season of Selena Meyer and company? I know I will be looking forward to it after this season's over.
