Yes, ahead of the ceremony for the 66th annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, the winners have been revealed and once again Argo emerged as a major victor, once again hinting towards a major victory for Ben Affleck, Grant Heslov and George Clooney later this February.
Argo picked up wins for Best Film, the David Lean Award for Achievement in Direction for Affleck (once again making the Academy look like dunces for excluding him from a nomination) and Best Editing.
Proving their love for 007, the Alexander Korda Award for Outstanding British Film of the Year went to Skyfall as did the Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music. Cinematographer Roger Deakins however lost out to Life of Pi.
As expected the Best Actor trophy went to Daniel Day Lewis and the Best Supporting Actress to Anne Hathaway (both considered locks for the Oscars). More surprising were the victories for Emmanuelle Riva for Best Actress and Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor, again hinting that these categories will be a great deal of fun to predict when the Oscars arrive.
In the last major awards, Silver Linings Playbook and Django Unchained claimed the two screenwriting awards, Brave Best Animated Feature and Searching for Sugar Man Best Documentary. Check out the full list of winners below and let us know what you think of the results.
