Trine 2: Director’s Cut received an update today that added some much welcome improvements to the game.
First and foremost, the game now supports voice chat via headsets and, for the first time on Wii U, the gamepad itself. Using the latter option allows you to speak into the gamepad’s microphone while hearing your party from the TV.
Trine 2 got a visual upgrade as well, showing off brighter and more vivid colors. Frozenbyte put up a comparison video (which you can watch below) showing off the difference between the original and updated visuals. While many people probably would not have noticed much of a difference, the comparison video shows that the original version seems a little washed out in comparison to the updated one.
Frozenbyte also added pro controller support, making Trine 2 eligible with the full suite of Wii U controller options alongside the gamepad, Wii Remote, Wii Remote/Nunchuk, and the Wii's classic controller.
The worldwide update coincides with the Australian and New Zealand eShop launch with Frozenbyte apologizing for the delay with a 25% discount for a limited time.
